This from the Transport Topics: DOT will be having a two day meeting to discuss the hazards of cellphones in trucks. I told you this was coming. There are a variety of state laws out there now. I believe New Jersey and New York have banned the use of hand-held phones while driving. I’m sure there are more. This meeting is just the beginning. Within 3 years, I would bet DOT will ban the use of hand-held cellphones, texting, or typing on the Qualcomm keyboard while driving, in all commercial motor vehicles.
