This story brought to you by our good Canadian friends. Go here to the Toronto Star to read th article. Apparently a driver from Ontario was fined while driving in Ontario for smoking in his truck. It seems Ontario has a law which forbids smoking in all workplaces, which is interpreted to include the cab of a truck.
I guess the next question is, ‘does this apply to American drivers who run Ontario?’ I would guess it does, I really don’t know. I mean, I can’t use my cellphone in New York in the car, even though I’m from Pennsylvania, nor can I use a radar detector in Virginia.
I don’t smoke. I don’t care if you smoke. I don’t care if you smoke next to me. I believe the studies showing 2nd hand smoke is dangerous are a lot of crap. I have no scientific basis for that, it’s just what I believe. Yeah well, a story like this just makes me glad I don’t live in Canada…. although the way things are going right now, I imagine in 10 years America will be Canada.
