I am reading between the lines of this article, and I can tell you from experience, they are describing many, many motor carriers with which I have worked, both with the government, and on the private side of the fence. Of course, after one of your trucks destroys a major city freeway, you look much more foolish saying, “well, it was just recordkeeping violations, we’re not doing anything unsafe…”. If the district attorney in that neck of the woods was looking to make a statement, he could very easily indict Sabek Transportation criminally. If you don’t have your safety records together, all you can say is, “there, but for the grace of God, go I.”
